Coal Chamber was formed in 1994 by vocalist/lyricist B. Dez Fafara and guitarist Miguel "Meegs" Rascon, who met through a classified ad; the two added drummer Mike "Mikee" Cox and bassist Rayna Foss, the latter of whom heard about auditions through her roommate, Fafara's future wife.
n the summer of 1999, Dross and Scathe met while enrolled at a recording engineering school
called Los Angeles Recording Workshop. Shortly after meeting, the two decided
to get together and casually jam together and bounce different musical ideas off
of each other. In March of 2000, they placed their first ads to begin forming what
was to ultimately become Sothis.
Sevendust released their first self-titled album on April 15, 1997. This album is known for its heavy riffs, angry vocals and thrash-like drumming. The songs "Black" and "Bitch" are the best-known songs from this album. Sevendust was first played on a local radio station in Orlando, FL called Real Rock 101.1 WJRR. While they still consider Atlanta, Ga home Orlando, FL is their second home.
