A weird Little Audrey toon from 1950. Audrey gets in trouble for reading a comic book in class and falls asleep while being forced to read nursery rhymes. Tons of jive references are jammed into this, folks.
Also, I claim the public domain Pinhead and Birdbrain as my own. See the link.
A trailer for an Astro Boy movie, still in its native Japanese. I don't know much about this film, nor do I know when it will be dubbed/waterred-down .
Do note: I am unsure as to if this was officially the 15th or 10th anniversary. For now, I have put this as the 15th.
This video is from 1994, advertising the Fifteenth Anniversary Happy Train toys. [I have most of them.] We've even got Sonic and Barbie (wearing some tutu thing)!
UPDATE! If you liked Crystal Pepsi, go to kathi.rosafort@pepsi .com and ask that they bring it back! (But be nice; corporate people don't listen to hate mail!)
This one is interesting. Only about nine seconds are fully dedicated to showing the actual product, whilst the rest of the commercial has rhinos, naked babies and clocks.
The infamous twin commercial for Double Mint, once parodied on "Family Guy" [And one of my friends seems to find something filthy with the two women saying "Double your pleasure!"...]
Here it is in its entirety.
Sorry about the fuzziness. It appeared better on my computer.
By far the coolest damn video game ad I've ever seen. Also contains an orchestral version of the original theme song and unedited clips of the 2003 anime. [I told you the dub sucked!]
Now that I've learned EVEN more about this...
This intro aired on the 10th anniversary of Macross's original series, with the robots based on a compliant toy line. The video is a frame-by-frame reproduction of the actual anime's intro, but with chibis. Knowledge is power!
The last video I'll put up today. Bart was soaking in his last wave of popularity about this time. At least his balloon didn't get destroyed like Sonic's, Spiderman's, Rex's...
Not shown - Sonic smashing into a lightpost and exploding. Yes, the hedgehog's balloon happened to pop, thus prompting the crew to use stock footage of Sonic before the collision. Also, what's the dealio with his mouth?
This ran between commercial breaks for the Sonic the Hedgehog cartoon, most known as "SatAM". Thing is, the clips are from the toonier show, "Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog". My theory is that SatAM clips weren't available, or USA Network was lazy.
Thanks to an avid viewer, we know know this is a short old SEGA bumper on a tape given out with a Spanish magazine. The short features Sonic - with bizarre finger lasers - and an Orbinaut. What's amazing, is how well the CGI is rendered when this is fron *1992*.
Finally, a promo for the English-dubbed Sailor Moon on the USA Network. Never picked up the USA Network out here, but YTV ran it non-stop around the time of this bumper.
I know there's too many copies of this on YouTube, but I do love this OVA. Even though Sera is damned irritating. What really irritates me, though, is how few DVD copies are available - such as when the video store informed me that they HAD a copy, but some moron came in two days earlier.
Enjoy, though.
