The Raku process (from Kyoto in the late sixteenth century) is a low temperature technique (1000°C).
The pieces are removed from the hot kiln and allowed to cool in the open air where they "crackle". The crazing lines take on a dark color from the carbon.

You will need :-
1 small oil drum - ask your local garage.
1 small burner,pipe,clips,re gulator.
propane gas bottle.(hardware store)
ceramic fibre (you may need to go around twice -you need 2 inches thick minimum-from your pottery supplier)
Ceramic glue,not brick cement,glue for fibre blanket.
A kiln shelf + props to support.Stiff wire for handle.
