Arbore is around 50km/31miles from Turmi and the people were very pushy. The first village we stopped at didn't want us there. Henok (our guide) said they were all drunk. It was a little early in the morning but with their hard lives, can't blame them.
The second village was a little more welcoming. A first five minutes and we were out of there...

A day with the nomads in the grasslands of Eastern Tibet. These people move every month with their flocks and sheep. We visited their summer tent, spotted a horse race in the pasture, watched the milking of the yaks and enjoyed the hospitality of our guide and his family. Most nomads here spend their entire lives in this area.

Join us as we make our way through the Heart of Cambodia, beginning in Phnom Penh. A newly vibrant city emerging with gusto from all the years of hardship.
You never know what you're going to see. An elephant walking down the street, sidewalk barbershop, boats on the river, or just sit and enjoy a beer at one of the many sidewalk cafes.

The Jewish people (called Falasha) have inhabited Ethiopia since pre-Christian times. A small pocket remains but most were airlifted to Israel. A fascinating road journey from Gonder to Debark, up and over the mountains, where the weekly Debark market was going on.
As the only two Westerners in Debark, we were a spectacle and focus of everyone.

The Gentoo, Chinstrap and Adelie Penguins had to be the highlight of our Antarctica cruise. It was nesting time and the penguins were busy finding the perfect stones for their nests. If they couldn't find a great stone, they'll just steal from each other.
You could sit for hours watching them slip, slide, squawk and interact. Personality Plus!!
